AI assistantAn AI assistant is a smart helper that understands questions in everyday words and replies with useful answers or actions.

ChatbotA chatbot is a computer program that talks with people in a chat window and answers their questions by itself.CSVA CSV is a plain spreadsheet file where each row is a line and each column is separated by a comma.CrawlTo crawl a website is to visit its pages automatically, one after another, following the links and reading the content.ConversationA conversation is one complete chat between a visitor and the bot, from their first message to their last.

Daily capA daily cap is the maximum number of messages a chatbot will answer in one day before the count resets.

EmbeddingAn embedding is a way of turning text into a list of numbers so a computer can measure how close two pieces of text are in meaning.Embed codeEmbed code is a short snippet of HTML you paste into your website to show something built elsewhere, like a video, a map or a chat button.

FallbackA fallback is the reply a chatbot gives when it does not have an answer, instead of guessing or going silent.

Grounded answersA grounded answer is one that comes only from the information the chatbot was given, with no made-up details.

HallucinationAn AI hallucination is when a chatbot makes up a fact and states it as if it were true.HandoffA handoff is the moment a chatbot passes the conversation to a human, usually because the visitor asked for a person or the bot could not help.HinglishHinglish is Hindi written in English letters, often mixed with English words, the way many Indians type on their phones.

IntentIntent is the real purpose behind a message, like 'wants to know the price', regardless of the exact words used.

Knowledge baseA knowledge base is the collection of files, pages and notes that a chatbot is allowed to use when it answers.

LLM (Large Language Model)An LLM is a very large AI model trained on huge amounts of text so it can read, understand and write human language.

PromptA prompt is the question or instruction you type to an AI so it knows what you want it to do.PDFA PDF is a document file that keeps its layout the same on every phone and computer, so what you send is what people see.

Q

QR codeA QR code is a square black-and-white pattern that opens a link when someone scans it with a phone camera.Q&A pairA Q&A pair is one question and the exact answer you want given for it, word for word.

RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)RAG is a method where the AI first looks up the relevant parts of your documents, then writes its answer using only those parts.

SlugA slug is the short, readable part at the end of a web address, such as 'sharma-tuition' in fad.fyi/sharma-tuition.SourceA source is one item of information you feed your chatbot, such as a file, a web page link or a block of pasted text.SessionA session is one period of use, from the moment a person opens a page or app until they leave or stop for a while.Suggested questionsSuggested questions are ready-made questions shown as tap buttons in a chat, so visitors can start without typing.

ToneTone is the feeling the words give, such as friendly, formal or playful, apart from the facts they carry.

Unlisted linkAn unlisted link is a page anyone can open if they have the link, but which is not listed or shown anywhere for others to find.

VisibilityVisibility is the setting that controls who can open your fad: only you, people you allow, anyone with the link, or everyone.

WidgetA chat widget is the small floating button on a website that opens a chat window when a visitor taps it.Welcome messageA welcome message is the first line a chatbot shows when a visitor opens the chat, before they type anything.
