Intent
Intent is the real purpose behind a message, like 'wants to know the price', regardless of the exact words used.
Intent is what the person wants. 'How much?', 'Price?', 'Kitne ka hai?' and 'What does it cost?' are four different sentences with one intent: knowing the price. Humans understand this without thinking. Software has to be taught, or built smart enough, to see past the words to the purpose.
Old chatbots made you list every intent and every way of saying it. That was a lot of work and still missed things. AI chatbots understand intent from meaning, so a new way of asking still lands on the right answer. The remaining job is to make sure the answer exists in your sources.
You do not set up intents on fad.fyi. Your fad reads each message in plain language, in English, Hindi or Hinglish, and finds the matching part of your sources. When a question has no good answer, it appears in the Teach tab, so you can add the answer once as a Q&A pair.
