Add your product list with a CSV file

If you sell things, your fad can answer "how much is this" and "do you have that" from a product list. You make the list in Excel or Google Sheets, save it as a CSV and upload it in the Products tab. This guide shows the columns and the steps.

  1. 1

Make a sheet with the right columns

Open Excel or Google Sheets. In the first row, write these column names: title, price, link, image, category, description. Only title is required. The rest are optional, but price and description make the answers much more useful.

  2. 2

    Fill one row per product

Write one product in each row. Put the price as a number, like 250. Put a full web link in link and image, starting with https. Keep categories short and consistent, like Snacks or Notebooks.

  3. 3

    Save it as CSV

In Excel, choose File, Save As, and pick CSV (Comma delimited). In Google Sheets, choose File, Download, Comma Separated Values. Keep the file under 25 MB. Your original sheet stays safe for later edits.

  4. 4

    Upload in the Products tab

Open Step 3, Feed it, while creating, or the Feed it tab on your Manage page. Choose the Products tab and upload the CSV. Wait for the upload to finish, then check that your file shows in the list of sources.

  5. 5

    Ask like a customer

Go to Try it and ask things your customers ask: "Do you have 1 kg atta?", "Price of the blue notebook?". If an answer misses, check the row for that product and fix the title or description.

  6. 6

    Update when prices change

When prices change, edit your sheet, save it as CSV again and upload the new file in Feed it. Replace the old file with the new one so the fad does not give two prices for the same product.

Tips
  • Put the unit in the title, like "Tata Salt 1 kg", so prices make sense.
  • Links to your WhatsApp catalogue or Amazon page work well in the link column.
  • Start with your 20 best sellers. Add the rest later.

Questions people ask

What if I do not have prices for everything?

Leave the price cell empty for those rows. Only title is required. The fad will still tell people the product exists. For such items, add a line in the description like "Price on request" so the fad can say that clearly.

Can I upload my Shopify or Amazon export?

You can, but first rename the column headers to title, price, link, image, category and description, and delete the extra columns. Most exports have many columns the fad does not need. A clean file with these six columns gives the best answers.

What goes in the image column?

A full web link to a photo of the product, starting with https, for example a photo from your website or online catalogue. It is optional. If you do not have photo links, leave the cell empty. The fad still answers from the title, price and description.
