- A button that opens wa.me/yournumber with the question prefilled
- Show it when asked for a person, whenever the fad is stuck, or never
- Also show phone, email, hours, website, booking link and address
- Works on the chat page and inside the website widget
- Handoffs are counted in your Chat history
How it works
In three steps.
- 1
Add your WhatsApp number
In your fad, open the contact details section and type your WhatsApp number with the country code, like 91 and then your 10 digits. Add phone, email, hours or a booking link if you want.
- 2
Choose when the button appears
Pick one of three: only when someone asks for a person or contact, also whenever the fad cannot answer, or never. The second one is a good default for a shop.
- 3
Receive the message on WhatsApp
When a visitor taps the button, WhatsApp opens with their question prefilled. They press send and it lands in your normal WhatsApp. Reply when you are free, like any other chat.
Why it matters
What changes for you
- Use your WhatsApp Business number if you have one, so chats stay separate from family.
- Add your hours too, so visitors know when you will reply on WhatsApp.
- Check Chat history weekly to see which questions led to handoffs. Add Q&A pairs for them.
Questions people ask
Does the visitor need to save my number?
No. The button opens wa.me with your number built in, so WhatsApp starts the chat directly. The visitor only presses send. It works on phones and on computers with WhatsApp Web.
Do I get the chat history along with the question?
The WhatsApp message carries the visitor's question. The full conversation stays in your fad under Chat history, with time, language and the number of messages, and each handoff is marked there. Open it any time to see what was asked before.
Can I show a phone number instead of WhatsApp?
Yes. Besides WhatsApp you can show a phone number, email, hours, website, booking link and address. Add whichever you want and the fad offers them when someone asks for contact details or when it cannot answer.
Will the fad send WhatsApp messages by itself?
No. The fad never messages anyone on WhatsApp. It only opens the chat for the visitor, who decides whether to press send. Nothing goes out without the visitor's action. You do not need the paid WhatsApp Business API or any approval.
