Write a welcome message that people reply to

The welcome message opens every chat. It tells people what your fad can do and nudges them to ask something. A good one is short and warm, and it comes with three suggested questions that people can tap. This guide shows how to write both.

  1. 1

    Open the Shape it step

While creating, go to Step 4, Shape it. If your fad is already made, open it from fad.fyi/app and use the Voice tab. You will find the welcome message, the three suggested questions and the tagline there.

  2. 2

Say who you are in one line

Start with a clear line, like "Hi, I am the helper for Sharma Tutorials." People should know in one second whose fad this is. Keep the whole welcome under two short sentences.

  3. 3

    Use {name} to greet people

Type {name} inside the message and your fad replaces it with its own name. For example: "Hi, I am {name}. Ask me about fees, timings or admission." The message stays correct even if you rename the fad later.

  4. 4

    Tell people what to ask

Say what your fad knows. For a clinic: "Ask about timings, doctors and fees." For a shop: "Ask about prices, delivery and offers." This stops people from asking about things you never fed it.

  5. 5

    Set three suggested questions

Write the three questions you hear most often. Keep each one short, so it fits on a phone button. Good examples: "What are your timings?", "How much is the course?", "Do you deliver?".

  6. 6

    Test it in Try it

Go to Step 6, Try it, and read your welcome like a first-time visitor. Tap each suggested question and check the answer. If an answer is weak, add that information in Feed it and try again.

Tips
  • Write the way you talk to a customer at the counter.
  • Hinglish works well if your customers chat that way on WhatsApp.
  • Change one suggested question when you have a new offer or a new batch.

Questions people ask

How long should the welcome be?

Two short sentences are enough. One line says who you are, one line says what to ask. Long welcomes get skipped on a phone. Put the details in your sources instead, so the fad can answer when someone asks.

Can I write the welcome in Hindi?

Yes. You can type the welcome in Hindi, Hinglish or English. Pick the matching languages in the Shape it step so the replies match too. If your customers chat in Hinglish on WhatsApp, a Hinglish welcome feels natural to them.

What are suggested questions for?

They are three buttons shown with the welcome message. People tap one instead of typing, which is easier on a phone. They also show what your fad knows, so visitors ask the right things. The What is it for step suggests three to start with, and you can edit them any time.
