Make your fad speak Hinglish the way your customers do
Many customers type the way they speak: "kitna hai", "kal open hai kya", "delivery hoti hai". Your fad can answer in Hindi, Hinglish or English. This guide shows how to turn on the right languages, write a natural welcome and feed your fad the words people really use.
- 1
Turn on the languages
Go to Step 4, Shape it, or the Voice tab on your Manage page. Under languages, pick English, Hindi and Hinglish as you need. Pick more than one if your customers mix them. Save your changes.
- 2
Pick a friendly tone
Choose the friendly tone for shops and classes, or professional for clinics and offices. Hinglish with a friendly tone sounds like a helpful shopkeeper. Concise is good when people want quick answers on the phone.
- 3
Write the welcome in Hinglish
Try a welcome like "Namaste! Main {name} hoon. Fees, timing ya admission ke baare mein poochhiye." Keep it short. Use the words your customers use, not textbook Hindi.
- 4
Set Hinglish suggested questions
Write the three suggested questions the way people ask: "Fees kitni hai?", "Timing kya hai?", "Location kahan hai?". People tap what they would have typed anyway, so this saves them work.
- 5
Feed both spellings
Hinglish has many spellings: "kitna", "kitnaa", "kya", "kia". Add Q&A pairs with the common question forms, so the exact answer you want comes back every time. Start with prices and timings.
- 6
Check the Teach tab
After a week, open Teach. You will see Hinglish questions the fad could not answer. Write the answers in Hinglish. These become Q&A pairs, so the next person gets the exact reply you wrote.
- Write numbers both ways: "paanch sau" and "โน500".
- If customers type in Roman letters, write your Q&A in Roman letters too.
- Thumbs-down replies in Teach show where the language felt wrong.
Questions people ask
Will my fad understand Hindi typed in English letters?
Yes, that is what the Hinglish setting is for. Turn it on in Shape it or the Voice tab. Common questions still benefit from Q&A pairs in the same spelling people use, because those are answered exactly as you wrote them.
Can it reply in Devanagari Hindi?
Yes. Choose Hindi in languages. You can choose more than one language at the same time. Write your welcome and suggested questions in the script your customers read best, and keep your Q&A pairs in that script too.
Do I need to translate all my files?
No. Feed the files you have, in English or Hindi. Turn on the languages your customers use. For the most common questions, add short Q&A pairs in Hinglish so the answers sound natural. Fix the rest from the Teach tab over time.
