Create your first fad in about 5 minutes
A fad is your own AI chatbot. It lives at fad.fyi/yourname and answers questions from the files, links and text you give it. You can build one on your phone in about 5 minutes. This guide walks you through all seven steps, from picking a name to sharing the link.

Sign in with Google
Open fad.fyi on your phone or computer. Sign in with your Google account. There is no password to remember. Your work saves as you go, so you can stop at any step and come back later.

Step 1: Name and address
Type a name for your fad. Then pick its address, like fad.fyi/yourname. The page checks right away if the address is free. If it is taken, you will see a few suggestions to choose from.

Step 2: What is it for
Choose what your fad will do: business, course, documents, personal, products or general. This sets a sensible welcome message and three suggested questions for you. You can change all of them later.

Step 3: Feed it
Give your fad something to learn from. Use the Files tab for a PDF or Word file, Link for a web page, Text for pasted notes, Q&A for exact answers, and Products for a product CSV. Add at least one source.

Step 4: Shape it
Pick a tone: friendly, professional, playful or concise. Pick languages: English, Hindi or Hinglish. Edit the welcome message and the three suggested questions. Add your WhatsApp number, phone, email, website and hours so people can reach you.

Step 5: Look
Choose one of the 9 accent colours, or set a custom colour. Upload an avatar, like your logo or photo. Pick a light or dark chat theme. Keep it close to your shop or brand colours.

Steps 6 and 7: Try it, then Share
Try it shows the real chat page in a preview. Ask a few questions a customer would ask. Then go to Share. Pick Private, Unlisted or Public. Copy the link, share it on WhatsApp, or use the QR code.
- Start with one good PDF or your price list. You can add more sources any time.
- Use your phone. The whole flow works on a small screen.
- Keep the address short. People will type it from a poster or card.
Questions people ask
Do I need to know coding?
No. You only need a Google account. The seven steps are simple forms: type a name, choose what the fad is for, upload a file, pick colours and share the link. The website widget is one line of code, and we show you exactly where to paste it.
How much does it cost?
The Free plan costs nothing. It gives you 3 fads, 10 sources per fad, files up to 25 MB each and 500 messages per fad per day. A small "Start your own fad" line shows on the chat page. A Pro plan is coming soon.
Can I change things after I finish?
Yes. Open fad.fyi/app to see your fads and tap one to manage it. You can add sources in Feed it, change the tone in Voice, update colours in Look and change the address or visibility in Settings. Your changes are saved as you go.
