Session

A session is one period of use, from the moment a person opens a page or app until they leave or stop for a while.

A session is one sitting. When you open an app, do a few things and close it, that was one session. Websites use sessions to remember you while you move between pages, so you do not have to sign in again on every click. Analytics tools count sessions to measure visits.

In chat tools, a session and a conversation are closely linked. A visitor opens the chat, asks a few questions and leaves. If they come back the next day, that is usually counted as a new session. Sessions help separate one visit from another when the same person returns.

On fad.fyi you see conversations, not sessions. Each chat a visitor has with your fad appears in the Chats tab with its time, language, messages and handoff status. For your own account, Google sign-in keeps your session going, so you can edit your fad without signing in again and again.

ExampleA student opens the coaching fad, asks three questions and closes it: one session, one conversation.
