Chatbot

A chatbot is a computer program that talks with people in a chat window and answers their questions by itself.

A chatbot is a program that chats with people. You type a question, and it types a reply. The oldest chatbots followed fixed menus, like 'press 1 for timings'. Newer chatbots use AI, so you can ask in your own words and still get a sensible answer. Businesses use them to reply to customers at any hour, without a person sitting at the phone.

A good chatbot saves time for both sides. The customer gets an answer in seconds, even at midnight. The owner stops repeating the same ten answers all day. A chatbot is only as good as what it knows, though. If nobody has told it the delivery charge, it cannot tell the customer the delivery charge.

On fad.fyi, your chatbot is called a fad. You create it at fad.fyi/yourname in about 5 minutes, feed it your files, links and text, and it chats with your visitors in English, Hindi or Hinglish. It answers only from what you fed, and when it does not know, it says so and offers your WhatsApp.

ExampleA kirana store's fad answers 'Do you deliver to Sector 12?' at 11 pm while the owner sleeps.
