Source

A source is one item of information you feed your chatbot, such as a file, a web page link or a block of pasted text.

A source is where an answer comes from. In everyday life, a source might be a book or a person. For a chatbot, a source is one item of material you gave it: a PDF, a web page, a note you typed, or a spreadsheet of products. Together, all the sources make up the knowledge base.

Good sources are clear, current and specific. A one-page note with timings, address, delivery areas and payment options is a better source than a 60-page brochure with the same facts buried inside. Short and direct beats long and vague, because the bot has to find the right piece quickly.

On fad.fyi, a source is one uploaded file, one web page link or one block of pasted text. A Free fad can have 10 sources, and you can remove one to make room for another. Q&A pairs and your product list do not count towards the 10. Pasted text works immediately; a file shows Waiting while it is being read.

ExampleThree sources: a fee list PDF, the link to your About page, and a pasted note with timings and address.
