Privacy and your data
You share your business knowledge with your fad, and your visitors share their questions. Both deserve care. This page explains, in plain words, what fad.fyi stores, who can see it, how to make a fad private, and what happens when you delete a fad. No legal language, just the facts.
Is my data used to train AI?
No. Your files, your pasted text and your visitors' chats are not used to train any AI. They are used only to answer questions on your own fad. Your knowledge stays yours. It is not shared with other fads or other users of fad.fyi.
Where are my files stored?
Your files are stored on fad.fyi servers. fad.fyi is a service built with Indian businesses and users in mind. Only your fad reads your files, and only to answer questions. Other users cannot open or download your files. If you delete the fad, its files and knowledge are removed for good.
Can visitors see my files?
No. Visitors only see the answers your fad gives in the chat. They cannot open, list or download your sources. Keep in mind that the fad can repeat any detail that is in your sources, so do not feed it anything you would not want a visitor to hear, such as cost prices or staff phone numbers.
Are visitors' messages saved?
Yes. Messages are stored so you can read them in the Chats tab. You see each conversation, the time, the language, the messages and whether a WhatsApp handoff happened. This helps you learn what people ask and improve your fad. On a public or unlisted fad, visitors do not sign in, so you see the chat, not the person.
Can I make my fad private?
Yes. Set visibility to private and add the Google emails you allow. Only those people can sign in and chat. Everyone else sees a sign-in gate. You can also keep the fad as a draft, which only you can see, while you test it. You can switch between these settings whenever you like.
What happens when I delete a fad?
Everything goes. Deleting a fad removes its knowledge, all its sources and all its chats for good. There is no undo. To protect you, fad.fyi asks you to type the fad's address exactly to confirm. Copy anything you want to keep before you delete, such as Q&A answers you wrote.
Who can read my chats?
You can, from the Chats tab of your fad. Other fad.fyi users cannot read them. Your visitors see only their own conversation on their own screen. If you have a team, remember that anyone who can sign in to your Google account can also open your fad, so keep that Google account safe.
Why does a private fad ask visitors to sign in?
Because that is how it checks who they are. A private fad lets in only the Google emails you added. So each visitor signs in with Google, and fad.fyi checks whether their email is on your list. If it is not, they see a sign-in gate and cannot chat. This keeps your batch notes or team information safe.
