FAQ ยท Account and login

Your account and signing in

fad.fyi uses Google sign-in only. There is no password to make or remember. One Google account is one fad.fyi account, and on the Free plan it can own up to 3 fads. This page answers the usual questions about signing in, using more than one Google account, and keeping your account safe.

How do I sign in?

Tap Sign in with Google and choose your Google account. That is the whole process. There is no password to set and no OTP to wait for. The first time you sign in, your fad.fyi account is created automatically. The next time, Google usually signs you in with one tap.

Can I sign in with email and password or with a phone number?

Not today. fad.fyi uses Google sign-in only. If you use an Android phone, you very likely already have a Google account, so this keeps things quick and safe. If you do not have one, you can make a free Google account and then sign in to fad.fyi with it.

How many fads can one account have?

Up to 3 on the Free plan. Each fad has its own address, its own sources, its own look and its own chats. For example, one for your shop, one for your coaching class and one for a friend's clinic. Pro, coming soon, will allow more fads per account.

Can I use two Google accounts?

Yes, but they are separate fad.fyi accounts. Each Google account gets its own set of up to 3 fads. Sign out and sign in with the other account to see its fads. Keep a note of which Google account owns which fad, because each fad is tied to the account that created it.

What if I lose access to my Google account?

Your fads are tied to that Google account, so recover it first. Google has its own account recovery steps using your phone number or backup email. Once you are back into Google, sign in to fad.fyi again and your fads will be there. Keep your Google recovery phone and email up to date.

Do my visitors need an account?

No, not for a public or unlisted fad. Visitors just open your link and chat. Only a private fad asks visitors to sign in with Google, so that it can check their email is on your allowed list. For a shop or a coaching page meant for everyone, keep it public or unlisted.

How do I sign out or switch accounts?

Sign out from fad.fyi, then sign in again and choose a different Google account when Google asks. If Google signs you straight in with the same account, use the account picker on the Google sign-in screen, or add the other account to your browser first. Then come back to fad.fyi.

Is my Google password shared with fad.fyi?

No. Google sign-in never gives your password to fad.fyi. Google checks who you are and then shares only basic details like your name and email. You can see fad.fyi in your Google account's list of connected apps and remove it at any time. Your fads stay tied to that email.
