QR code at the counter: ideas for shops, clinics and classes
A printed QR code turns waiting time into answered questions. Ideas for where to put your fad QR code: counter, menu, visiting card, poster and more.
Why a QR code works at the counter
People wait at a counter. They wait for a bill, a parcel, a token number. In that minute, they have a phone in hand and a question in mind. A QR code with the line "Scan to ask about prices and timings" gives them something useful to do with that minute.
Every fad comes with a QR code. You find it on the Share step when you create the fad, and later on the Manage page. It points to fad.fyi/yourname. Print it at least 2 cm wide so phone cameras read it easily, and bigger if people will scan from far away.
Ideas for shops
Stick it next to the billing counter with "Scan karo, rate poochho". Put it on the price board so people can ask about items that are not listed. Print it on the bill or the packing slip, so the question can come after they get home: "How do I use this?", "Can I exchange it?".
Feed your fad the product list as a CSV with title, price and description, and your exchange policy as text. Then the QR code answers the questions you would otherwise answer again and again, while you serve the next person in line.
Ideas for clinics and salons
Put the QR code at the reception with "Scan to see timings, doctors and fees". Waiting patients can ask about the next available day or what to bring along. Add your booking link in Contact & handoff so the fad can share it when someone asks to book.
For salons and parlours, put it on the mirror or the service menu. Feed the price list and the list of services. Set WhatsApp handoff to show when someone asks for a person, so a booking request goes straight to your phone with the question already typed.
Ideas for coaching classes and tutors
A poster at the gate or on the notice board with "Scan to ask about batches and fees" works for parents who come to enquire after hours. Feed your fee structure, timetable and admission steps. Make the three suggested questions the ones parents ask most often.
For current students, a Private fad with allowed emails can answer questions about the notes. Students scan the QR code from the classroom wall, sign in, and ask. Keep that one separate from the public fad you use for new admissions, so each stays simple.
Where else: menus, cards, posters
Restaurants: on the menu, with "Ask about ingredients and spice level". Visiting cards: at least 2 cm wide, with "Scan to chat". Posters and flyers: a bigger code, 10 cm or more, so people can scan from a distance. Delivery bags and boxes: a small sticker.
One rule for all of them. Write a short line under the code that says what the person gets. "Scan to ask" beats a bare square. And test the print with a phone that is not yours before you print a hundred copies, because a blurry code is a wasted one.
