Five things to feed your fad first

Not sure what to upload to your new fad? Start with these five sources: prices, timings and contact, policies, your daily questions and one good document.

1. Your prices

Price is usually the first question. Feed it first. If you sell products, make a CSV with the columns title, price, link, image, category and description, and upload it in the Products tab. Only title is required, but add a price for every row you can. Prices make the fad useful on day one.

If you offer services or courses, a short text in the Text tab is enough: "Class 10 maths: โ‚น2,500 per month. Class 12 physics: โ‚น3,000 per month." Write one line per item. Clear lines make clear answers, and they are easy to update when the prices change.

2. Timings and how to reach you

Fill in the "how people reach you" section in Shape it or the Contact & handoff tab: WhatsApp number, phone, email, website, hours and a booking link if you have one. The fad shares these when someone asks how to find you or whether you are open right now.

Also add your address and a landmark as text: "Opposite Metro Pillar 112, next to the chemist". People on their way to you ask exactly this. Then decide when the WhatsApp button appears: when asked for a person, also when the fad cannot answer, or never.

3. Your policies

Delivery areas, delivery charges, returns, exchanges, refunds, cancellation, payment methods. These are the questions people ask before they trust you with money. Write them as plain text in the Text tab, or paste the page link from your website in the Link tab.

For the lines that must be exact, use Q&A pairs. "Do you take returns?" with the exact answer you want to give. Q&A pairs are answered word for word, so the policy never gets rephrased into something you did not say.

4. The ten questions you hear every day

You already know them. Write each question and its answer as a Q&A pair in the Q&A tab. Use the words customers use, including Hinglish if that is how they ask. This takes ten minutes and gives your fad the answers people ask for most.

Make three of them your suggested questions, the buttons shown with the welcome message. People tap them instead of typing, and they see right away what the fad can do. Change them when you have a new offer or a new batch.

5. One good document

Finally, upload one document that explains your business well: your brochure, your course outline, your service menu or your product manual. PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, PowerPoint, TXT and Markdown all work, up to 25 MB each. Make sure a PDF has real text, not a scanned image.

This document covers the unusual questions you did not think to write a Q&A pair for. Together with the first four, it gives your fad a solid start. The Free plan allows 10 sources per fad, so you still have room for more later.

Then let real questions guide you

After a week, open the Chats tab to read what people asked, and the Teach tab to see what the fad could not answer. Write those answers once. Dismiss what does not matter. Your fad gets better from real questions, not from guessing what people might ask.

Do not try to feed everything on day one. Five good sources, checked in Try it, beat twenty messy files. Start small, share the link, and improve it a little every week. That is the whole method, and it works for a kirana store as well as a coaching class.

TakeawayFeed your fad in this order: prices, timings and contact, policies, your ten daily questions, one good document. Then let the Teach tab guide you.
