Keep your fad private or share it with a few people

Some fads are for everyone, like a shop helper. Others hold internal notes, a family document or a course for paid students. fad.fyi gives you three visibility settings: Private, Unlisted and Public. This guide explains each one and shows how to allow only certain people in.

  1. 1

    Know the three options

Public: anyone can open and chat. Unlisted: anyone with the link can open it, but it is not listed anywhere. Private: only the people whose email you have allowed can open it, after they sign in.

  2. 2

    Pick visibility on Share

On Step 7, Share, choose Private, Unlisted or Public. If you are still building, pick Private so no one sees a half-done fad. You can switch to Public later with one tap.

  3. 3

    Add allowed emails

For a Private fad, open the Settings tab on the Manage page and add the email addresses that are allowed. Add your own too. Use the Google email each person signs in with.

  4. 4

    Change it any time

Open your fad from fad.fyi/app, go to Settings and change the visibility. Use this when a course batch ends or when your fad is finally ready for customers. The address stays the same.

  5. 5

    Remove people when needed

When someone leaves your team or class, remove their email from the allowed list in Settings. They can no longer open the fad. Check the list every few months to keep it clean.

Tips
  • Use Unlisted for a soft launch with a few friendly customers.
  • Private is good for staff manuals, pricing sheets and family documents.
  • Allowed emails must match the Google account the person uses.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between Unlisted and Public?

Both let anyone with the link chat. Public is open and can be shared freely. Unlisted is not listed anywhere, so only people who get the link from you will find it. Use Unlisted when you want to share quietly, like with a test group.

Can visitors see my files?

Visitors see a chat page, not a list of files. They ask a question, and the fad answers from what you fed it. When it does not know, it says so. Your data is also not used to train anything.

Is my data used to train AI?

No. What you feed your fad is used only to answer questions on your fad. It is not used to train anything. If you want to delete a fad, go to Settings, type its address to confirm, and it is removed.
