Print a QR code for your shop counter

A QR code turns a waiting customer into a chat. They scan, your fad opens, and they ask about prices or timings while you serve someone else. Your fad has a ready QR code. This guide shows where to find it, how big to print it and where to stick it.

  1. 1

    Find your QR code

The QR code appears on Step 7, Share, when you create a fad. Later, open your fad from fad.fyi/app and find it on the Manage page. It points to fad.fyi/yourname.

  2. 2

    Save the image

Save or screenshot the QR code image to your phone. Make sure the whole square is in the picture, with some white space around it. Do not crop it tightly, because scanners need the white border.

  3. 3

Print it at least 2 cm wide

Print the code at least 2 cm wide. Bigger is better for a counter, where people scan from a hand away. For a poster across the room, print it much bigger, like 10 cm or more. Test the scan before printing many copies.

  4. 4

Add a short line of text

Under the code, write what happens when they scan: "Scan to ask about prices and timings" or "Scan karo, poochho". People scan when they know what they will get.

  5. 5

    Place it where people wait

Stick it at the billing counter, on the menu, next to the price board or on the door. Eye level is best. Laminate it or put it in a stand so it does not tear or get wet.

  6. 6

    Test with a different phone

Scan with a phone that is not yours, in normal shop light. Check that fad.fyi/yourname opens and the welcome message shows. If scanning is slow, print it bigger or move it to a brighter spot.

Tips
  • Use black on white. Fancy colours make scanning harder.
  • Put the same QR code on bills and packing slips.
  • If you change your address, reprint within 30 days of the change.

Questions people ask

Does the QR code change when I update my fad?

No. The code points to your address, fad.fyi/yourname. You can add sources, change colours or edit the welcome, and the same printed code keeps working. It changes only if you change the address in Settings, and then the old one redirects for 30 days.

Can I print it on visiting cards?

Yes. Keep it at least 2 cm wide, which fits on a standard card. Add a line like "Scan to chat". Test the print before ordering a box of cards, because tiny or blurry prints scan poorly.

Where else can I use the QR code?

On menus, posters, product packaging, delivery bags, flyers and your shop signboard. Anywhere a customer stands and waits is a good spot. You can also share the plain link in your Instagram bio and WhatsApp status.
